Tuesday, April 22, 2008. Louganis was born in 1960; he was adopted when he was 9 months old and lived with his family in southern California. Living there he had to go through a rough childhood. He was targeted because of the dark skin he had inherited from his Swedish and Samoan parents. Also for all the extra curricular activities that he chose to performed like dance and gymnastics and theater, and because of his dyslexia.
